Job Overview:

InterContinental Malta is currently looking to recruit a Gardener to join their team on a full-time basis. Forming part of the Maintenance Department, the person appointed will work with a small team to ensure that the hotel gardens and plants are maintained to a high standard. You will carry out all aspects of garden maintenance that includes watering, planting different flowers as instructed as well as ensuring that all hotel gardens are kept clean and are well presented. You will also be responsible to ensure that all indoor plants are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain seasonal plants , hedges
  • Maintenance of any garden features, e.g. planting , Checking drains;
  • Weed control Seasonal bulb planting Maintenance of all drives, paths, terraces and tracks
  • Monitor and maintain the health of plants
  • Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
  • Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
  • The maintenance of equipment, keeping machinery in good working condition and undertaking any minor repairs

Qualifications & Requirements

· Experience as a Gardener

· Physical aptitude to working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.

· Familiarity with landscaping design

· Knowledge of regional plant life would be an advantage

· Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them

· Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers
