Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Engineer to oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of all plant systems and equipment within the hotel. The Hotel Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all essential utilities, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems. This role required exceptional technical knowledge, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff. The Plant Manager will play a critical role in optimizing energy efficiency, minimizing downtime, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities:

· Manage Plant Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant systems and equipment, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, chillers, elevators, and other mechanical systems.

· Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous operation and longevity of all plant systems. Conduct routine inspections, identify potential issues, and co-ordinate necessary repairs or replacements.

· Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency and reducing utility costs within the hotel. Implement strategies and initiatives to optimize energy usage, such as upgrading equipment, implementing energy management systems, and promoting sustainable practises.

· Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians and other personnel responsible for the plant operation. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluation to ensure high standards of work quality and adherence to safety protocols.

· Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address unforeseen equipment failures, power outages, or other critical incidents. Co-ordinate with relevant departments to minimize disruptions, ensure guest, and staff safety.

· Budgeting and Cost Control: Collaborate with the management team to establish and manage the plant operations budget. Monitor expenses, analyse cost trends, and implement cost -saving measures without compromising safety or operational effectiveness.

· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards governing plant operations. Keep up to date with industry best practices and technological advancements to ensure the hotel’s systems meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

· Contractors Management: Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance services. Evaluate and select contractors, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines.

Requirements:

· Education and Experience:

· HTD or higher qualifications in engineering, facilities management, or a related field (preferred).

· Proven experience as a plant Manager, or similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment for a period of five-years.

· Strong technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other plant systems.

· Leadership skills: Demonstrate ability to lead, motivate, and service a diverse team of maintenance technicians and other personnel.

· Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

· Organizational and Time Management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in maintenance records, reports, and documentation.

· Safety Consciousness: Strong knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for staff and guests.

· Technical proficiency: Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems and other relevant software applications.
